The Burrito Duvet Roll

My big sister, who is always two steps ahead of me, posted this video to her Facebook account today. We were far too excited about this – a sad indication of how little we get out, but this little trick will buy us at least four and a half minutes 🙂

The Power 20 Method – “Badass workouts for busy people”

So we have all pinned and instagram’d a million workouts that we are never going to do, right?

Why? Because it requires us to make those extra steps of looking it up and planning it out and we all know that even the smallest inconvenience can be an excuse to kibosh our intended workout.

The Power 20 Method has a list of intense 20 minutes workout apps that target specific areas or workout types. Here is a list of what they are offering (most are free btw):

Better Butt Workout (my fave)power 20

Awesome Arms

Amazing Abs

Prenatal

Full Body

Meditation and Sleep Aid

No thinking or planning involved. These apps do everything, aside from the physical act, for you. This includes timing your sets and rests. You just press the button and go for 20 minutes. The exercises are shown on a digitized video, so you can keep pace. All you need is your phone and a mat.

My workouts have to be pretty much a click away or something else will easily distract me and I will either put it off, or just not do it all together.

I wanted to share this, as I have found this app. to be the most user friendly and straight forward of any I have tried to date (I am totally dating this app) It has helped me kick start my routine again.

Shameless Selfie to follow!

detox bath for kids

Check it out on Kulamama – detox bath for kids.

I did not realize the importance of de-chlorinating the bath water before plunking a child in it.

This great site was discovered by DAD. He should be “Mommy Blogger”.

Pancakes made from protein shake powder.

These ones were made just by adding water until I had a pancake batter consistency. I then baked them on medium for a few minutes on each side.

They looked delicious, but I am sad to say that they didn’t not taste that way. They were very dry.

I have yet to revisit this recipe, but plan to do so soon. I think with a little coconut oil and/or maybe eggs I may have a perfect protein pan-a-cake!

1 week later…

1/2 cup protein powder

1/4 cup water

1 egg

2 tbsp. coconut oil

Much better, but not perfect. I guess staying lean doesn’t always taste as good as it feels 🙂 I topped these pancakes with heavy greek yogurt and a touch of organic molasses to make them tastier.

Please note that these are for Mom, not baby.

I am going to keep working on this one, so stay tuned…

Raw Honey Mask – Results of the 30 Day Trial

So I am now finished my trial of the raw honey morning mask and I am so happy with the results. My skin is super clear and clean, the pores are minimized and it has smoother and softer texture. My freckles and sun spots have lightened slightly, which gives it more even tone and complexion. I can’t say it has done much for fine lines, but I was not expecting a miracle here – That may require a trip to the med. spa shhhhhhhh!

I will definitely continue with the honey mask every few days to maintain my new glow. I found that this works great as a skin brightener and perfect to use as a refresher before going out. One of the almost immediate effects of this mask is the reduced puffiness around my eyes, which is why I usually do it in the morning; I applied it to the lids and under eye area with no irritation or stinging whatsoever.

I used less than 1/2 a cup of honey in the entire 30 day trial, which would cost maybe $2 and I recommend it before any of the store bought treatments I have tried, which are upwards of $50.

Stay tuned for the next all natural, homemade, cost effective beautifying solutions and treatments, which I am currently concocting and testing – coming soon.
